SaaS product development, from architecture to paying customers.

We design, build and launch subscription software products — multi-tenant, secure, billable and ready to scale — and we have done it for our own products as well as for clients.

A SaaS product is a different engineering problem from an internal system. Every customer is a tenant, every feature is a promise, and the product has to onboard, bill and support people you will never meet. Getting the foundations right early is the difference between growing and rebuilding.

Godji Tech builds SaaS products for founders and businesses in South Africa and beyond. We handle the full stack: product design, multi-tenant data models with row-level security, authentication and roles, subscription billing, admin tooling, analytics and the deployment pipeline that lets you ship every week.

We also build and run our own products — queue management, short-term rental operations and consumer health — so we bring product judgement, not just engineering: what to build first, what to leave out, and what actually moves retention.

What you get

What saas products covers.

  • Product discovery and MVP scoping

Turning an idea into a first version that is small enough to ship and valuable enough to charge for.

  • Multi-tenant architecture

Data isolation, row-level security, roles and permissions designed so one customer can never see another's data.

  • Onboarding, billing and plans

Self-service sign-up, trials, subscription billing and plan limits integrated with local and international payment providers.

  • Admin and support tooling

The internal console your team uses to manage customers, investigate issues and see the health of the business.

  • Web and mobile surfaces

A web app and, where it matters, native mobile apps sharing the same backend.

  • Launch and iteration

CI/CD, monitoring, analytics and a release rhythm that lets you learn from customers and ship improvements continuously.

Why Godji Tech

What working with us looks like.

We run SaaS products ourselves

We know what a support queue, a billing edge case and a churned customer look like from the inside. That shapes what we build for you.

Foundations that do not need rebuilding

Tenancy, security and billing are done properly the first time, so growth is a scaling problem rather than a rewrite.

Product thinking included

We push back on scope, prioritise for retention and help you decide what not to build.

Proof

Real systems in real use — not concepts.

FAQ

Questions we get about saas products.

How much does it cost to build a SaaS product?
A credible first version with tenancy, authentication, billing and a focused core feature set typically starts from around R250 000 and is delivered in phases. We scope an MVP that can take paying customers, then iterate against real usage.
How long does it take to launch a SaaS MVP?
Usually three to five months from kickoff to first paying customers, depending on how much of the product is truly new. We aim to have something usable in front of design partners within the first six to eight weeks.
Can you help with the business side — pricing, onboarding, retention?
Yes. Because we run our own products, we bring opinions on pricing models, trial design, activation and the metrics that matter. We are engineers first, but we build products, not just code.
Which stack do you use for SaaS?
Typically Next.js and TypeScript on the front end with Supabase or Django and PostgreSQL behind it, using row-level security for tenant isolation. Billing through Stripe, Paystack or local providers as appropriate. Everything deployed with CI/CD and monitored.
Can you take over an existing SaaS codebase?
Yes. We audit, stabilise and then either extend or progressively replace. Many of our engagements start with a product that has outgrown its first build.
