Mobile apps for iOS and Android, built for real-world users.

Cross-platform apps with native feel, offline resilience and secure backends — shipped to both app stores from a single codebase.

The right mobile app is not a shrunken website. It is the fastest path between a person and the one thing they need to do — approve an expense, log a symptom, check in to a property, join a queue — usually on a mid-range Android phone with patchy signal.

Godji Tech is a mobile app development company based in South Africa. We build with React Native and Expo, which lets us ship to iOS and Android from one codebase without giving up performance or native capabilities, and we run the whole release pipeline: builds, store submissions, over-the-air updates and crash monitoring.

We have built and shipped our own consumer health product, the mobile side of a multi-jurisdiction ERP, and field apps for agriculture and hospitality. We know what store review objects to, what breaks on low-end devices, and how to keep an app updatable after launch.

What you get

What mobile apps covers.

  • Consumer apps

Products people choose to open every day — onboarding, habit loops, notifications and the polish that keeps ratings high.

  • Business and field apps

Approvals, data capture, inspections and operations for teams who are not at a desk — with offline support where the network is unreliable.

  • Companion apps for your platform

A mobile surface on top of your existing web system, sharing the same backend, permissions and data.

  • Secure backends

Authentication, role-based access, row-level security and encrypted storage designed in from the start, especially for health and financial data.

  • Store release and updates

App Store and Google Play submission, EAS builds and over-the-air updates so fixes reach users without a reinstall.

  • Analytics and monitoring

Crash reporting, usage analytics and performance tracking so you know how the app is actually being used.

Why Godji Tech

What working with us looks like.

We ship our own apps

We run consumer products through the same stores, review processes and update pipelines we use for clients. The lessons are already learned.

Built for African networks and devices

Small bundles, aggressive caching, offline-first data and testing on the devices your users actually own.

One codebase, both platforms

React Native with Expo gives you iOS and Android from one team and one codebase, which halves the cost of every future change.

FAQ

Questions we get about mobile apps.

How much does it cost to develop a mobile app in South Africa?
A focused app with a backend, authentication and a handful of core screens typically starts from around R150 000. Apps with complex logic, payments, offline sync or integrations are scoped in phases. We prefer to ship a small, excellent first version and grow it.
Do you build native apps or cross-platform?
Cross-platform with React Native and Expo, which compiles to real native components on both iOS and Android. For the vast majority of business and consumer apps it is indistinguishable from native and far cheaper to maintain. Where a specific native capability is needed, we write native modules.
How long does it take to build an app?
A first store-ready version usually takes eight to sixteen weeks including design, backend, testing and store submission. Over-the-air updates then let us ship improvements weekly.
Will you handle the App Store and Google Play submission?
Yes. We set up the developer accounts with you, prepare the listings, screenshots and privacy declarations, handle review feedback and manage releases going forward.
Can the app work offline?
Yes. We design offline-first where it matters — local storage, queued actions and conflict handling — so the app stays useful in the field and syncs when the connection returns.
