IT consulting from people who still build the systems.

Technical strategy, architecture reviews, infrastructure and integration guidance — practical advice grounded in what we ship every week.

Technology decisions are expensive to get wrong and hard to make well without someone who has recently made them. Which stack, which cloud, build or buy, how to connect what you have, when to replace it — these are engineering questions, and they deserve engineering answers.

Godji Tech provides IT consulting for startups, SMEs and established organisations in South Africa. Our advice comes from the same team that designs, builds and runs production systems: full ERPs, national platforms, consumer apps and SaaS products. We do not recommend anything we would not be willing to build and operate ourselves.

Engagements are short and specific — an audit, an architecture, a roadmap, a second opinion — and they end with a written document you can act on with us or with anyone else.

What you get

What it consulting covers.

  • Technical strategy and roadmaps

Where your technology needs to be in one and three years, and the sequence of steps to get there without stopping the business.

  • Architecture and code reviews

An honest assessment of an existing system — risks, bottlenecks, security, maintainability — with prioritised recommendations.

  • Infrastructure and cloud

Hosting, networking, backups, monitoring and cost optimisation across AWS, Vercel, self-hosted Docker and hybrid setups.

  • Systems integration planning

How to make your existing tools talk to each other, and which to replace.

  • Vendor and build-vs-buy decisions

Independent evaluation of software and suppliers against your actual requirements and budget.

  • Fractional CTO

Ongoing senior technical leadership for organisations that need it but cannot yet justify a full-time hire.

FAQ

Questions we get about it consulting.

What does an IT consulting engagement look like?
Typically a defined piece of work — a technical audit, an architecture design, a roadmap or a build-vs-buy assessment — delivered over two to six weeks with interviews, a review of your systems and a written report with prioritised, costed recommendations.
Do you provide fractional CTO services?
Yes. For organisations that need senior technical leadership on a part-time basis, we provide an ongoing engagement covering strategy, architecture decisions, vendor management and oversight of internal or external development teams.
Can you review a system built by another developer?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we receive. We review code, infrastructure and security, explain the findings in plain language, and give you options rather than a sales pitch.
Do you help with cloud and infrastructure costs?
Yes. We regularly reduce cloud bills significantly by right-sizing, removing waste and choosing appropriate services, while improving reliability and backups at the same time.
Do you work with businesses outside South Africa?
Yes. We work across Southern Africa, particularly Mozambique, and with remote clients further afield. Our engagements run comfortably over video, with in-person sessions where useful.
